Green gills in the cupped oyster (Crassostrea gigas)

The blue pigment from Navicula added to the yellow gills in the Crassotrea gigas oyster results in green gills that showed lovely contrast with black/brown mantle.

The oysters were taken from ponds in the Marennes-Oléron Bay.
